The Jack Rafter Calculator uses the same tested calculation engine as the Rafter Length Calculator. The implemented formula is length = √(run² + rise²). The variant context is successive lengths reduce by the on-center spacing times the roof factor, but that extra geometry is not calculated separately by this tool.
